SUMMARY:2023 New Orleans Jazz and Heritage Festival
DESCRIPTION:The city of New Orleans has granted a permit to the 2023 New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival. \nThe dates are Friday to Sunday\, April 28 through April 30\, from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.\, and Thursday to Sunday\, May 4 through 7\, from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. \nAttendees are encouraged to stay in large crowds and report suspicious activity to public safety officials. \nThe New Orleans Police Department will restrict vehicle traffic around the festival and additional intermittent street closures might be required as crowd size warrants. \nAttendees should expect road closures\, traffic delays\, and heavy pedestrian traffic during the event. \nThe following neighborhoods impacted during the festival are: Fairgrounds\, Bayou St. John\, Desaix\, and the Seventh Ward. \nVehicles without residential permits will not be allowed within the boundaries of Mystery Street\, Fortin Street\, Gentilly Boulevard\, and Grand Rte. Saint John Street. \nParking enforcement personnel will be monitoring surrounding streets for illegal parking. \nAttendees and residents should make sure to follow all posted signs. \nDO NOT block hydrants\, driveways\, and sidewalks. \nDO NOT park within 20 feet of a crosswalk\, intersection\, or stop sign. \nCall parking enforcement at 504-658-8100 for more information on how to report improper parking. \nFor more information\, please visit the Jazz Fest website at nojazzfest.com

DESCRIPTION:OPCD is proud to be a participant in the 2023 Neighborhood Summit\, on Saturday\, October 21\, 2023. Held at the Ernest Morial Convention Center (900 Convention Center Blvd\, New Orleans\, LA 70130) on Saturday\, October 21st from 9AM – 1PM. \nThe annual Neighborhood Summit celebrates the strength\, history\, and diversity of our city’s neighborhoods\, bringing together community leaders\, non-profit agencies\, and city government. \nAt the Summit\, attendees will be able to attend workshops ranging from Public Safety to Infrastructure to Quality of Life. Several City departments and agencies will be included in the Summit resource fair. Dozens of free prizes\, giveaways\, and attraction passes will also be available! \nComplimentary breakfast will be served starting at 8AM\, with complimentary lunch later in the agenda.
