Employee of the Quarter – Darius Wilkinson

OPCD’s Employee of the Quarter
Darius Wilkinson

OPCD believes in acknowledging our staff’s successes to help them develop not only professionally, but to also recognize their own true potential. With that goal in mind, OPCD has created the Employee of the Quarter Award to honor employees who go above and beyond to #SHOWUP for the City of New Orleans. Each of our Employee of the Quarter recipients are nominated by their peers for exemplary work and dedication to helping people both on and off the OPCD campus.

We are proud to announce that the recipient of OPCD’s Employee of the Quarter Award for the 1st Quarter of 2022 is Emergency Communications Specialist I, Darius Wilkinson.

EOTQ

Darius, an Emergency Communication Specialist I, has been leading by example and excelling to high standards since joining the agency in 2018. Darius began his career in public safety as a 9-1-1 Operator at OPCD and later became a Communications Training Officer. He went on to become a Call Taker and EMS Dispatcher for the Metro Atlanta Ambulance Company, in Atlanta, GA, before making his return to OPCD as an Emergency Communications Specialist I in March of 2021.

Since returning to OPCD, Darius has not only been the ultimate team player but a prime example of adhering to protocol and procedures in his day-to-day duties with OPCD’s mission, “Being familiar with OPCD’s protocols and procedures ensures that I am in compliance with the agency standards,” said Darius. His level of dedication and commitment to the department allows his co-workers to rely on his professional expertise when needed, and his willingness to go beyond measure to help his co-workers perform at a higher standard speaks toward his continuous merits.

Darius has earned the Employee of the Quarter Award because of his leadership and mentorship during the 1st Quarter. Even when receiving an accolade for his good deeds, he expresses gratitude and appreciation to his peers at OPCD, “It feels great to be named as Employee of the Quarter and I appreciate my coworkers and teammates for recognizing me, said Darius. “I believe this award will help me grow at OPCD because my hard work has not gone unnoticed. Being the recipient of this award has given me a boost of confidence.”

Please join us in thanking Darius for his hard work and congratulating him for earning this award!
