OPCD Introduces Interim Director of Technology
(New Orleans, LA, Wednesday, July 19, 2023) Ryan Eleew, former Associate Director of Technology for the Orleans Parish Communication District (OPCD), had been named the Interim Director of Technology for the OPCD after the Special Board Meeting on Tuesday, July 11, 2023.
At the Special Board Meeting, Karl Fasold, former Director of Technology was named the Interim Executive Director for the OPCD by the OPCD Board of Commissioners. To ensure technology issues and concerns continue to receive the appropriate priority, Interim Executive Director Fasold has named Ryan Eleew as the Interim Director of Technology.
While Karl will remain as the Interim Executive Director until the position is permanently filled, having “no intent at this time of applying for the permanent position,” his “confidence in Ryan Eleew to step in as Interim Director of Technology is unwavering,” Karl stated.
“It is during times of transition that we must step up and lead, take care of each other, work together as a team, and stay focused on the mission,” says Karl. “Ryan Eleew, former Associate Director of Technology has acted as Director of Technology when I have been away on leave, so this is nothing new. I have full confidence in Ryan’s ability to lead our Technology Department through this transition and I thank him, as I do every member of the OPCD.”
Ryan started his career with the OPCD in 2015 as a Systems Engineer II, where he monitored multiple critical infrastructure systems for the OPCD operations center. In 2020, he was promoted to Network Operations Manager, and in 2022, he was promoted to Associate Director of Technology.
Ryan is well versed in all aspects of Cyber Security, especially as they relate to our OPCD 911 and 311 operations center. We are pleased to announce Ryan Eleew as the Interim Director of Technology.
