OPCD Announces the Appointment of Edwin Berrios 

We would like to welcome Edwin Berrios as a new IT Systems Engineer I (QB) for the Department of Information Technology here at OPCD. 

Mr. Berrios joins our team with valuable IT experience and qualifications, working most recently at Best Buy as a Consultant Design Supervisor. Having previously worked at Best Buy as an Inventory Control Specialist and before that as a Warehouse Specialist, Mr. Berrios has a strong commitment to professional development. In his role as a Consultant Design Supervisor, Mr. Berrios led with a prioritization of developing the skillsets of his team members, both to strengthen each team member’s role within the team and to prepare each team member for forward movement in their careers.  

In addition to his professional experience and contributions, Mr. Berrios has demonstrated a strong commitment to furthering his education. Having obtained a Bachelor of Civil Engineering from the University of New Orleans in 2017 and later an Associate of Applied Science in Information Technology from Delgado Community College in 2019, Mr. Berrios is currently on track to receive a Bachelor of Science in Information Technology from Tulane University in December 2023, 4 months left!  

As an IT Systems Engineer I (QB), Mr. Berrios will work under the direction of the Technical Operations Manager and with a team of IT specialists to design, set up, and maintain a network of computers, including hardware, software, and system architecture. He will also be responsible for performing technical tasks to support the agency’s QuickBase Applications, 9-1-1 telephone and network, administrative office systems, and Computer Aided Dispatch (CAD) system.
