Carbyne’s Technology Feature Enables 9-1-1 Callers to be Located During an Emergency
(Wednesday, February 7, 2024, New Orleans, LA) Made possible by our technology partners at Carbyne, our 9-1-1 Communication Specialists can send a link to a 9-1-1 caller that once opened, grants our specialist access to the caller’s location and camera to assist them in determining where the location of the emergency is and what emergency services are needed. The specialist no longer has access to the caller’s location and camera once the 9-1-1 call has ended.
“This is especially useful for our visitors who may not know where they are when they call 9-1-1, or for a caller who is having trouble communicating where they are or what is happening for whatever reasons,” says Executive Director Karl Fasold.
“We strive to be on the forefront of technologies that make New Orleans 9-1-1 easier to access for our diverse population of residents and visitors.”
